Made of wood

I took this picture at the Sammy Miller Museum in Southampton, UK.

  1. Truly amazing. And completely immobile. Still it somehow captures much of the appeal of veteran motorcycles. Doesn't the wicker picnic basket provide an image of sunny outings? The hand change gearshift is big enough for a locomotive; it speaks volumes about man's Command of Machinery. And the tidy little leather tool case, so gentlemanly, implying that one adjusts but doesn't get grease under the nails. A work of art.
