Royal Enfield defeats the recession?

Royal Enfield India reports growth of 12.8% in the first trimester of 2009 and announces new export markets in South America, Russia, Israel and Belgium. To this we have to add the exceptional year in the UK (30% up in 2008, but that may be in part due to being the last year of availability of the cast iron engine). Sales were also up in the US. Royal Enfield survived the depression of 1930 better than other companies. It seems to be doing it again. Major Smith would have been proud!
