Royal What?

Royal Enfields were widely used by the Republican forces in the Spanish Civil War. After the war and the defeat of the Republicans, many of the motorcycles were dispersed through Spain and they were commonly referred to as "Royal Guerra" (Royal War) given their war past. The newspaper La Vanguardia has all its editions since 1881 online. One can find many classified ads for sale of "Royal Guerras" after the Civil War. If you search for "Royal Enfield" you will find many pre-war ads as well!
