Harley in trouble in India
Apparently Harley-Davidson has been selling motorcycles without having dealt with the legendary Indian bureaucracy to make sure the vehicles are street-legal. As a consequence a rider who got into an accident got his claim denied. This last aspect sounds like sleazy insurance trickery to m:, why did the insurance company write a policy on a vehicle that is not street legal to begin with?

The guy's Harley cost him the equivalent of $42,000, the article says. Ouch.
ReplyDeleteAccording to Harley India, indeed, it costs Rs 1,845,000 which is around $42k... I guess that is the reason Harley is thinking of a factory in India, to avoid the 100% taxes on imports...
