A futuristic looking Royal Enfield prototype with a 75cc two stroke engine was produced in the mid 1960's. Apparently it was showed to dealers and they turned it down and it never went into production. Given how the market was being flooded with small foreign bikes at the time, it does not appear to have been a wise decision. The sole remaining example was bought from the factory by Reg Lewis of Bristol, restored and registered for the road in 1968. The engine was built in cooperation with Alpha Bearings. The picture is from The Gun #58, it is unclear where the bike is now.
