A family of six

Readers of this blog know that the 6hp sidecar rigs of the 1910's had no task they could not accomplish. This only got more momentous with the introduction of the 8hp rigs post World War I. This gentlemen had enough power to ferry around a family of six on one of them. From The Motor Cycle July 17th 1919. Click to enlarge.

  1. Ideal, as long as none of the children gets any larger and Mom doesn't mind being a laughing stock among her friends. We can safely assume that, once the photo had been taken, Dad did the rest of his riding alone. Or, perhaps, with the family dog, assuming even he was agreeable.

  2. Wow, thanks for the photo, I love the vintage stuff, from small things to cars and even planes. It is just amazing how fast technology progressed, now we have smart phones and planes that travel with the speed of sound, to bad we do not have time to take care of our family, or world. Anyhow, thanks for the post, it is lovely.
