Interesting information in this article in Cycle News about the release of the Conti. The US is the biggest export market for Royal Enfield with 3,500 bikes sold last year. Royal Enfields are now being exported to 54 countries. The Sun never sets on the Royal Enfield empire!
PS: David Blasco of royalenfields.com points out that the 3,500 figure for the US may be dubious. The Times of India earlier in the year reported that number as the total number of exports. Yet this other article also claims that 3,500 bikes go to the US and even claims 600 bikes a month are being shipped to the US. It might be that the numbers are changing fast. After all, production has more than doubled in two years.
