Poor sales?

Articles surface in the Indian automotive press (see here and here) claiming that the Conti is experiencing poor sales, but without exhibiting any hard data. On the other hand, in discussion groups (see here) they are talking about 4 month waiting periods. How could that be compatible with poor sales?
