Royal Enfield promises an electric model. It makes sense, electric vehicles are coming. However, we can anticipate a firestorm from the "thump" purists. Although with the twins the thump will also be gone so perhaps by the time it is released it is not an issue. More here.
I'm not from India, but I suspect that the "thump" may not be an issue for an electric Royal Enfield because it probably will not look anything like the traditional Bullet. Concern about weight, range and size will give us a truly modern electric Royal Enfield and thus it will not be expected to "thump." The company can keep its retro models internal combustion. The electric bike will give it a route out of the past into the future. It would be a very smart move. Do I remember that you once considered converting a Bullet to electric power? Or is my memory playing tricks on me?
