This book is not about Royal Enfield (although there are a couple of mentions to it in it, like the slogan "Untainted by technology"). It is about Triumph and more specifically about the trip from Land's End to John o' Groats that Edward Turner, Triumph's chief designer and general manager at the time and two other factory riders took to promote the Triumph Terrier model. The author, however, tells a delicious story weaving together his own recreation of the trip with the various social and political changes taking place in the UK at the time of the original trip and their aftermath. It includes quite a bit of reflection on the demise of the UK motorcycle industry. I found the writing lovely and quite engaging. I rarely recommend books, but this one I do wholeheartedly. You can get it on Kindle or paperback.
