Celebrating the harvest is a practice as old as mankind itself. In the Province of Mendoza, the main wine producing region of Argentina, the celebration of the harvest of the grape is crowned by a huge festival called the "Fiesta Nacional de la Vendimia". It includes the benediction of the fruit, a parade, a beauty pageant and a spectacle of light and music in an amphitheater.
