According to the
Times of India the New Delhi firefighters will incorporate Royal Enfield motorcycles equipped with a water misting equipment to fight fires. They claim the motorcycles will allow firefighters to move quickly through traffic on their red bikes and reach fires in congested areas like Old Delhi. The picture at the top of this article is not from New Dehli, it appears to be from Britain, but I couldn't find out more about it. Apparently there are motorcycle firefighters in Malaysia as well, but I don't know if they ride Royal Enfields. Does anyone have a picture of the Delhi firefighting Royal Enfields? Here is another firefighting Royal Enfield from the UK, in the past. Check out the determination in their faces!
Update 12/13/09: I was able to find a
German site with a picture of a firefighting Royal Enfield, from Bangalore. Apart from it being red it does not appear to have anything special.
