New Royal Enfields unveiled

At the 10th Auto expo in New Delhi, Royal Enfield unveiled three new bikes, primarily oriented for the export market. It also announced that starting April 1 all the bikes produced will be "Bharat Stage III" compliant with the EFI engine. The first model unveiled was a "Battlegreen" bike in line with the tradition of the military Bullet, the next model was a "Classic Chrome" and the last model was a concept bike, a Cafe Racer, The Cafe Racer has gas charged suspension, front disc brake, electric start and aluminum levers. The toolbox is replaced by a number plate.

In sheer desperation, Harley Davidson confused quantity and quality and announced 12 models for the Indian market. Also Mahindra introduced a concept motorcycle, amazingly with almost as much horsepower as their diesel trucks!

  1. Wow! This is great news. They all look fantastic. I wish they would stick with the name Deluxe for the chrome model and Military for the olive drab. That's what we called them, in the U.S. at least, and the more ties to the past, the better.
