1000 mile record

Apparently a rider named T  A Edge broke the 1000 mile record on a bicycle, on a Royal Enfield, of course, and the bike was on display at the 1896 Stanley Show. The article about the show in "The Graphic" also included a picture of a Royal Enfield tandem with enclosed chain.
