Colmore Depot

Was the place to go for a Royal Enfield in Birmingham in 1910. "Colmore Row" is now the "Colmore Business District" and the Colmore Depot is now a bagel place. Colmore also had an establishment in Manchester, in 261 Deansgate. It is now a sofa place. And one in 62 High Street in Leicester, where there is now a newly built private residence.

    Hi Jorge. We have had a Royal Enfield (Constellation) twin in the family since about 1970 - however, I rebuilt a 1919 Douglas 2 3/4hp in 2016-21, and as I come from Leicester, did some research and found there was also a Colmore Depot in Leicester (High St) that was a Douglas Dealership pre-WW1. I have managed to find an original Colmore Leicester depot enamelled badge, and also a Manchester version - which has an earlier phone number . .. so have placed that on the rear number plate of my Douglas. Like you, I googled the original High St Leicester address, and found it was until recently a coffee shop!
