The customer is always right

That phrase apparently was coined by H. Gordon Selfridge, an American tycoon that went on to create one of the most famous department stores in Oxford Street in London, Selfridge's, still going strong. In 1914 you could buy a Royal Enfield there. If you put "motorcycle" in their online store search engine today, the only thing you get are jackets, though...

  1. Interesting ad. It's only 1914, yet there is a healthy supply of used motorcycles and sidecars to be purchased. This vehicle really did take the world by storm.
