La Poderosa

This weekend I took a boat to Lake Frias, near the mountain pass Ernesto "Che" Guevara used to cross from Argentina to Chile riding his 1939 Norton, called "La Poderosa" ("The Powerful").

They have a display with a replica of his bike.

As one would expect of a trip two-up loaded with camping equipment on a bike like that, it didn't go well. They had to ditch the bike in Chile and continue the trip hitch hiking. They made it all the way to  Venezuela and the poverty and suffering he witnessed radicalized him politically and changed him forever. Capitalism, however, still finds a way to make a profit, they have a thematical line of wines based on this.
