Could this be the place? (The perspective of the Google Street camera is from atop a vehicle so it makes the stone wall look shorter than it is).

Unless there are a lot of humped bridges on this route, I think this must be the place. The 1928 photo makes it appear that the road makes a very tight turn behind the rider, whereas the Google Streetview shows a road that is relatively straight. This could be perspective or perhaps the road has been straightened. Nice find!
