Redditch in time

This great site for old maps https://www.oldmapsonline.org/ allows us to travel in time in Redditch.

Here it is in 1887, click to enlarge.

Pay attention to the railway line on the right, the gas works, and the Mill Pond.

Here it is in 1949,
Notice the gas works behind the Royal Enfield factory (including its test track) and the Mill Pond to the north. Lowan's Hill Farm (listed as Loanshill in the earlier map) is also there.

This is today,
The gas works are gone, the Mill Pond is kind of smaller but still there. It is fed by the Red Ditch, which gives the town its name (apparently the land contained iron which turned it reddish when it was first written about in the 12th century). There is something going on at Lowan's farm maybe construction of family dwellings.
