During my visit to the Raman Research Institute in Bangalore for its 75th anniversary, the hosts prepared a surprise for me on the last day of the meeting. One of the staff members, Naresh, rides a Thunderbird X. He arranged to go pick up his bike at his mechanic, who is a local legend in Bangalore. His name is "Tejas" and runs "Tarmac's Gears",
The shop was very neat and well organized,
A true Enfield enthusiast, Tejas and I bonded immediately and started talking like old friends,
I showed him pictures of the various Enfields I have had. He broke apart a UCE motor he needed to open because it had seized. It was a great opportunity to see the inside of an Enfield engine,
,
This is Naresh's Thunderbird X. His plan was to ride back to the Institute and maybe let me ride a little bit. Alas, it was raining, so we went back by car. It was a lovely hour and I enjoyed every moment of talking to Tejas and Naresh.
Glad you enjoyed it, Jorge
