Phelon & Moore
Phelon and Moore motorcycles were built between 1906 and 1967 in Yorkshire. They were famous for sloper engines that were stressed parts of the frame including the well known "Panther brand. Now, it has been revived with a push by American investors and presented some bikes in EICMA. It appears many are jumping on the Royal Enfield idea of carrying a legendary British brand into the 21st century. But I think there remarkable differences, given the history of Royal Enfield, with these new upstarts. I have the hunch that they won't be as successful as they think. But no doubt Royal Enfield's great success is spawning imitators. They are the sincerest form of flattery!
