Where in Westwood? (Part II)
We have discussed in a previous posting the underground factory that Royal Enfield had in the Westwood quarry, near Bradford-on-Avon. It was started during World War II and continued in operation to the very last days, even after the Redditch factory had closed down. The last Interceptors were produced there from 1967 to 1970. Someone has now uploaded in Youtube a video of the underground factory. The video refers to this site which has several pictures of the Royal Enfield factory during the war and today.

ReplyDeleteI realise that I am fortunate in that I actually saw this site when it was still in production in the late 1960's. It's a pity that there were no video camera's etc then to capture the final days of plant in action.
