Is how one of the readers of the Royal Enfield Yahoo group characterized the arrival of Harley Davidson in India. It will be interesting to see what kind of impact they have on Royal Enfield's market. I imagine not much. A Royal Enfield retails in India for around US$1,600. A Harley will be much more expensive, especially including import taxes. So I imagine it will work in the super-expensive niche of the Indian market only.
Update: there are now rumors they may even set up a factory in India. Others are drawing parallels with how the move to India preceded the demise of Royal Enfield in the UK!
